My first job was sacking groceries at an Air Force Base commissary. I was 14 and my dad was stationed in Duluth Minn.
We worked for tips only but I made enough money to buy a used snowmobile.

It was a little rough in the winter though. Running in and out of a warm grocery store to a freezing parking lot to carry groceries to Air Force personnel's autos.
The worst time was after a hard snow. The weather would usually turn bitterly cold and freeze the snow into little berms caused by the traffic in the parking lot. Hard to negotiate a bag boy cart thru all those little frozen mounds.
