gran turismo 2 psx advice

hey guys.. i thought since this was playstation, not computer, i would put it in community
(move it to wherever if you want though)

well anyway, i need advice on cars to buy in gran turismo 2
right now i have my international "a" license


current cars:
celica (first car)
mazda az-1 aspec
mazda rx-7 aspec
and i just bought a mitsubishi R3000gt
with around 637 horsepower that hasnt lost a race yet

i know i need to get that pikes peak car but its not my first priority

i am looking for a nice fast car that doesnt need much improvement

I'm not sure that this counts as advice but, the Toyota Supra is an excellent car that starts out pretty fast and can go all the way with tuning. The Nissan Skyline is another but I can't remember if they're in GT2

If you want 4 wheel drive, I'd go for a Subaru Impreza.

my celica and my 3000gt are fwd
also, i love skylines - in gt 1 i have a skyline with like 900 horsepower and it can hit 250km/h easy

they have skylines in gt2 but i havnt bought one yet, i have won some though and sold them

my 3000 gt has a few hundred thousand dollars invested

Is that "realistic" money?? Hundreds of thousands of dollars into a 3000GT???

Do they have European cars in that game?

there is like 600 cars - from alot of makers, they have a whole section of european ones

and my base 3000gt was like 20,000 dollars
but i spent 70k on a stage four turbo
80k on racing modification
and about another 80k or so on other mods
o, and 2k on cool looking wheels

Couldn't you have bought a "real" sports car with that money?

at first i bought a vector m12 (192k)
but that car just sucked, i was real dissapointed
good thing i didnt save the game

my 3000gt has already paid for itself
there is a race where you get the regular 5k if you win but you also get a car you can sell for 75k (a 427 shelby)

The vector is one of the best cars if you learn to handle it. It's real touchy though

Try to get your hands on the ford GT40 you get it from winning a race. Great little car. Also there is a silver concept car you can win that will do great for mid horsepower races. Other than that get the pikes peak car. And you can tear up teh high horse power races. That car is insane,

i handled it alright, it was just too damn slow - i only had a stage 2 turbo in it though.. maybe i will give it another shot later

Best way to make money in in that race you win the GT40 in. Once you beat it the first time you cn use the GT40 in that race. It will blow all the other cars away. You get 25k for winning and another GT40 which sells for 250k. Alternatively if you get a dragester enter it into that race thats just a big loop and ride the walls. You'll win eaisly and get the money and about 50% of te time another dragster (250k)
