Good job raising him. He actually has respect for his parents. Not being selfish is a good trait to have.

Funny how kids are. A friend of mine has two kids old enough to work ( 18 and 19 ). The oldest works two jobs, one cleaning hotels part time and some babysitting...she's living on her own-if you want to call it living. She refuses to get a legitimate job to support herself. The son hasn't gotten a job...period. Puts on the show that he's trying, but never seems to get an interview...interesting stuff.

Funny, I had a job part time when I was 15 busing tables and washing dishes so that when I got my license, I could afford the expense of a car. Their dad doesn't make squat for the size of family he has to afford to just hand out stuff to these kids. Seems like the whole family ( other than him ) are a bunch of lazy people who don't appreciate the hard work he has to endure just to make ends not meet. Yeah, you read that right. He works his arse off and still can't make it because he's got too many capable people leeching off of him for no good reason ( including his wife ).

Whatever happened to the idea of helping your family when it needed it? Whatever happened to the idea that when the kids were old enough, that the wife could work at least part time to help get the bills paid when one income just wasn't enough? I don't get it.

Omardeth, I salute you and your son ( and most likely the rest of your family ) for being the type of people we need more of.

I hope that I can instill those same values in my kids as they grow up. You're a lucky guy ( even if the kid does some stupid things, you are probably better off than most )

Wow! My 16 year old bought me a memory card for the PS2. I think I'll show him this thread. Hmmm, Bookmarks . . . Add bookmark.
