Cotton mouth

I have given up drinking soda at work. I have switched to water. I have noticed that I could drink 1 liter of pop for 8 hours. But now that I am drinking water, I go through 4 or five liters and I have cotton mouth all the time.

What's the deal?

I want to go with the loss of caffein intake, but I'm not really sure.

When I quit drinking pop at work I was drinking like six cans of dew a day and I went down to about half a litre of water in the same time.

Of course now if I try to not drink dew for a day I get massive headaches and siezures...

your probably too young to be on drugs that would cause that. but anti-seizure meds, anti-cholinergics, will cause that.

how long has it been since you stopped your caffeine intake? nicotine may also be a factor. Hows your urine? color, odor etc? is it normal? any pains about midway up your back? cotton mouth can also be a sign or a disfunctional kidney. i would doubt at your age that is the problem...but something to consider. your not on the adkins diet right?

Why did you stop drinking soda? It's very recently been determined that it doesn't matter how one gets their daily water intake. All sources are the same. Water, soda, coffee, beer, whatever, all equal water intake into the body. Source of info: JAMA.

4 or 5 liters?
You are drinking almost a gallon and a half of water daily---cut back alittle (maybe half)---your systems probably flipping out from the overload---the toilet must be gettin a good workout as well---

Aren't you supposed to drink 4 liters of water a day?

OuT I've been considering dropping my pop instake as well, I have way too much sugar intake and I'm tired quite a bit.. it maybe fatal's problem too...

Not exactly good for your teeth either

True it's not good for your teeth. And the caffeine and other stuff is probably not good for ya either.

4 liters a day? That's quite a bit a water vass! I've always heard it should 8 glasses of water. But even that is just arbitrary. There is no set amount of water to drink every day. And everything you drink (no matter what it is) as well as everything you eat all contribute towards your daily water intake.

All I ever drink now is water and coffee. A lot more water than coffee, too.

You may be drinking too much.

BW - no drugs (illict or otherwise)

I drink a soda on the way to work (still need the caffiene) but at about 12:00, I stop.

I stopped the soda because of the sugar and caffiene. I am now sleeping better at nights.

I drink the water because I am thirstyor maybe because I am bored. Not really any other issue.

Since you asked, the urine starts out yellowish, no strong ordor, then turns white by the end of the night because of all the water.
