Why? It's just a format. I'm not particularly fond of the quicktime player, but it works. It's also docile, never bothers me at all, never tries to take over anything or hijack any other formats. When you really think about it, it's not very bad at all.

It's always been a thorn. I like ATi's mpg player and Quicktime feels that it's necessary to take over for it. I think I got it right this time though.
