They are starving but wont accept our food.

I know that GM(genetically modified) food might(MIGHT) cause problems, but what is wrong with people eating it?

"Nearly a third of Zambians were starving last year when the United States donated 74,600 tons of food to the southern African nation. President Levy Mwanawasa didn't want it."

Said it was poison!

Good job levy mwanawasa.

an unprovable possible slight side effect compared with definite death and health problems associated with starvation.

Solid logic there budddddy

Sheer folly. Even if it made you sick, that would be better than dying of starvation...

The guy's a squid stick.

When all the poor people of Zambia die off, he won't have to worry about feeding them, sending them to school, or giving them jobs.

All food has been genetically modified, some just slower than others.

Lets blow him up.

He is one of the fellars I have been considering a problem since before current hostilities.

The UN should go there and whack him.

Of course there is always the old question. Are the people unwilling to eat it or is he not allowing them to eat it.

People have been known for eating some pretty nasty things when starving. Including fecal matter. One must assume that this is better than that.

The problem here is that we have no idea what the GM products do to humans. There are a few more issues. It has been proven to cause malfunctioning of organs in rats, so he has the humanitarian concern, another reason the EU passed a bill allowing any market to close itself to GM products and require labels on all products containing at least 2% of GM products. The other issue is that of genetic diversity. There GM products have little to no genetic diversity. By sending them to thrid world countries that heavily rely on their crops, and have little to fight off crop disease, their crops MUST have a high genetic diversity to survive crop disease. If these GM seeds go out and mixed with the native crops the overall genetic diversity would be much reduced, leaving the possibility that the entire population could be wiped out by one crop disease. There are quite a few nations that are refusing GM products, not just zimbabwe.

I agree there are concerns about GM foods. I dont say it is perfect, but I would think dying decades later from a medical illness as opposed to dying in a few weeks or months of starvation would be a deal maker, but then I AM partial of EATING on a regular basis. I have been told that after 3 days or so of not eating the hunger goes away. I have no intention of finding out myself except under duress.

I thought the whole idea was to feed the starving people today(well soon) not help them grow next years crop.
