I live next door to a weird family. There are 6 adults living in a 4 bedroom house. This is one family. There are the mom and dad and then there are the four kids. Kids being relative here, they range from late twenties to early thirties. I don’t really care what the reason is for them all living there however odd it seems to me. The problem is that one of these kids’ adults plays the drums. When I say play I really mean he hits the pads with drum sticks. He has no rhythm and just plain sucks. I go to bed at 8 or 9 sometimes and he is playing. All I hear is thump, thump, thump, thump…I feel like going over there and killing him. At the very least I would like to bust he drum set. I have a very bad temper and so I don’t go over there as I know my next trip would be to jail. I also feel sorry for the guy as he looks like a big loser and I don’t want to hurt his feelings by telling him he sucks. I called the police and ask if we had a noise ordinance and we don’t. They said they would come over if it was bothering me, but I don’t want to involve them as I don’t want trouble by being a bad neighbor. But, this guy surly knows what a racket he’s making. I just don’t know what to do.

Heh. If we swapped houses, Terminal23, you'd feel right at home. I have the same neighbor. Three kids in a trailer home that have their own band. They suck, too. I can here them now <boom, boom, boom>. The trailer is 500ft away down a hiil and through some trees, but it doesn't matter. Every frikkin' night it's the same thing. No noise ordinance here either.

I've been down there twice. Not in a good mood either time. The fact that I'm 6'-3" and 240lbs and these are three teenage kids helps to quiet them down when I'm there hollering at them, but they pick it up again the next night. I finally told them I was going to come by there on my way into work at 4:45 AM every morning and wake them up if they didn't stop playing after 9 PM. So far, it's worked.

Do you have a really nice sub-woofer?

Record this guy's "playing". About 30 minutes of it or more, or just make a tape loop of the same 10 minutes over & over.

Point the woofer outa your window while their asleep, & play it back to them.

You could even record your own little announcement on the tape:

"And now for your late night/ early morning sleeping enjoyment...Billy Headbanger on the DRUMS!"

1. my neighbors are jack***** they always have parties and get drunk etc. they are loud, and i mean screaming, anyway, no sound ordance, so i just turn on air conditioner. it drones out the sound and i dont hear a thing.

2. terminal, you live in florida, im sure you could hire someone *wink wink* to make sure that his drumbs have an accident *wink wink* .

3. just ask him politley if could play earlier or something because you have to get sleep and its really loud. dont tell him he is bad, just ask him to knock it off while you sleep. if he acts like a jerk, come back and well make up a plan.....Muahahahahahahahahaha

i dont know, i was big on the turtles and now the simpsons. i know the turtles dont say it, maybe mr. burns from simpons, but that isnt really exactly what he says....
