When I was about eight years old I sent for the "cool army book" I saw on TV. A while later the recruiter called my mother looking for me.

wow!

i was joking about this free game, and shirt with my friends, so if you get them you have to go to the army in small letter under the licence agreement

Naughty people.

About the army:
Is it considered 'have to' be in army? I know the u.s. has mercenary army (what I mean here is that you get paid, it's like a job).
But is a person that never went to army an outcast?

WTH, Mercenary is someone who is trained in one country and paid to fight by and in another! YOU ARE NOT considered a mercenary if you are a member of the military in YOUR own country!

Examples --

Irish serving in South African Army = Mercenary
German serving in German Army = Soldier

There are a couple of exceptions to the rule, but I won't go into it here.

It could be worse... it could have happened over some ice cream from a shop that had nothing to do with the army...

muno,

The US has an all volunteer army (except when you're drafted - hehe). But we haven't had a draft since the Vietnam war. In Israel on the other hand, it's a requirement to serve in the army. I don't know the details of term or any other particulars there.
