Just put in a new intake in my 99 accord, i also had to replace the bumper, unfortunately the wheel well was destroyed and im having a sh*t of a time trying to find a new wheel well, my only concern is that the intake is exposed meaning the tire can kick up water and possibly get sucked up into the intake ?? What are the chances of hydrolock by some splashing water.
Please any car gurus help
Jack
Probably not good at all---is it a 4-6 cyl? Is that part called an "engine splashshield" maybe some duct tape and 4" flexible dryer ducting can get you by for a couple rain days...
ok its not gonna rain tomorrow, so i should be good to do it after school right, its a 4 cyl and if i just patch up the one corner where part of the inner wheel well is missing i should be good, maybe temporarly do a plastic fix then see if i can find myself the actual oem wheel well somewhere

is the wheel well part the same as a splash shield??
A wheel well is the inner fender (the plastic fender inside the steel fender on many cars).
Are you missing the air filter box too?
You shouldn't get much water in the intake if you've got it on. They usually have a sorta "water trap" design that keeps it from gettin to the manifold.
thast where the problem starts... i found this: http://www.carpartswholesale.com/cgi...ale/10124.html
that should cover all of the damaged body, i put in a cold air intake for performance, the cold air intake goes straight to the front right corner behind teh bumper, so i took out the resignator box and the old air filter box and just have a cone filter
