Disposing of a flag

What are the proper procedures for disposing of a used up, old flag? We just bought a new flag and don't really know what we should do with the old flag. Starting a fire in the back yard is kind off out of the question as we'd get the fire department on us in a few seconds.

The "patriotic" thing to do these days is attach it to your car antenna and drive around until it disintegrates.

Yea, I don't understand why people drive around with tattered flags. Please replace or get a sticker for a window. It really makes you look lazy and unpatriotic.

haha, thats about right. when 911 happened, i coudnt count to 5 without passing a car on the road with a flag. just think how many of those fell off and are still laying on the ground
