Why are ordinary Iraqis ransacking their hospitals?

Read in the news that stuff like heart monitors etc. are being looted by the ordinary population.

What use are these things to them? Don't they understand they are best left where they are?

yeah all this looting is messed. We gotta stop this stuff or they won't have much of a country to start over with.

Also heard that a bunch of them were removing electrical conductors from the local childrens hospital. Perhaps they can get a good price for the scrap value but then there is plenty of scrap Iraqi military equipment lying about so that can't be the reason.

perhaps some of them are Iraq soldiers. Those missing pieces will be a pain for us to have to fix. I wonder if they will now just try to create chaos by doing stuff like that.

Quite a few figure thus. The Coalition forces have come into Iraq and as such are going to be financially responsible to redevelop Iraq to a good standard of living. They figure coalition forces have no idea of what is there and what is not there. All the looting thats going on is going to be blamed on the coalitions "inability" to police the people while at the same time liberating them. And had the coalition not liberated them they would not have had their stores and schools and hospitals looted in the 1st place.
What are we going to say ?, tough nuggies. No we will take $$$ from the federal tax base and give it to the poor Iraqi's so that they can enjoy a standard of living better than most working Americans.
The general Iraqi public see us as the rich uncle that comes over to visit and throws change into the air for the kids to catch.
Next time you get your pay stub and see the federal tax deductions make sure you wave to the east to your newly adopted nieces and nephews, and wave bye bye to more of your paycheck to support somebody else.

I can't wait for the next presidential speech about taxes.

You are exaggerating. Do you have any idea what it's really like to live in absolute poverty? I know I don't, and I don't want to find out either.

they have video of them stealing stuff from federal buildings and stuff. I woulnd't say they aren't but good point osprey

hmmm we "liberated" the people so they can loot? Ahh well I have no problem with them being thieves, just wished they left the hospitals alone.
I can't imagine what it's like to have armed people stealing stuff from the hospital.
