Broadband, FINALLY!

They finally took care of one of my biggest gripes here... they actually made the switch from dialup to cable. (can you imagine, a network of 40 computers with dialup internet access?)

Of course, they had to do the actual changeover right when I was in the middle of a driver download.

Yep. It only took a minute or two to download all three parts of the ATI Catalyst driver suite. The only limiting factor was on ATI's end of things.

pickel - yeah, I believe it. Same way at my work. Frustrating part is that I know for sure we've checked the options & found NONE.
Right in the middle of St Louis county, suburban area, and we CAN'T get broadband!!
The dealership sits in a small pocket that's rated "industrial", thus no TV cable has ever been run in. So cable internet is out of the question.
All phone lines, including the 800 #'s, route through the switchboard equipment. No DSL possible through that, besides, can you imagine trying to get a "clean" signal via 40 yr old lines - with 40 yrs worth of patches in three buildings?
