ATTBI - COMCAST

More good news........

For anyone using ATTBI with multiple IP addresses your monthly charges are about to more than double...............

I just received an email from Comcast who is in the process of taking over ATTBI, that if you want to use more than one IP address your price is going to jump from $45.00 a month to $95.00 a month including modem rental.

This is for use with a hub of course. The girl said on the phone that I could use a router with one IP address but with 4 people downloading at the same time the service will be noticably slower.

Lovely.................

I'm really glad I'm vacating this state shortly................

Yes, in theory. Practically speaking, four users are not going to be downloading simultaneously. So having one IP and using a router is no different.

I was thinking of getting a second IP not now! This seems to be a bad idea that will back fire. Who going to buy an extra IP addresses now when they can basically do the same thing with a router?

That is my opinion maface. I can not tell that much of a difference when Fingers and I are both on and my son is on, (son is always downloading something! )

Is there any bright news for Comcast?

I've been in the same apartment for six years and no high speed available. Next week, we're getting hooked up with Comcast. Are they better than nothing (dial up)?

Oh way better! I've got it and it's just fine.
Sometimes it's a bit slow but not nearly as bad as Charter Cable was! sheesh it was worse than dial up at times!

But considering everything, they really aren't bad.

(You are gonna love a high speed connection!)

Well up in Maine they have Adelphia Cable and with the same service I have now with TV and Internet with four separate IP's.

And the whole package is going to cost me $50.00 less a month..

And the biggest saving will be $3,700 saved yearly on car insurance..............

Once you have the big pipe there is no going back to dialup............

Thanks for the info surreal.

Funny thing is that mt appartment is dropping Charter cable tv. Guess they lost the bid to put in cable internet access.
