Playstation 2 Mod Chip talk?

Can we talk about Playstation 2 Mod chips? If so, can someone recommend a reliable source?

My intentions are good. My 5 year old is simply trashing those $50 games. I don't believe there is nothing wrong with wanting to back them up.

Thanks

Grandma

AFAIK mod chips aren't illegal so I think you're allowed to talk about them.

Yes mod chips are legal, although Microsoft seems to give alot of problems when people talk about mod chips in a xbox.

There's a fine line here. You can talk about mod chips provided you are using them as a backup tool or to play games from other countries. But, if the discussion turns to piracy or warez, then that is where the line must be drawn. We can not allow discussion of illegal stuff on the forum. Mod chips are legal, but very often used for illegal purposes (although not always, as I stated above).
Thanks
Dave

Thank you for the clarification. Yes, I don't intend for this to be a warez or piracy.

Anyone with kids knows the damage they can do to DVD's.

With that being said, can someone offer me some insight and links on where to go for information?

Thanks

Grandma

this may help
