What others say - Foreign editorials

Here is a collection of current editorials from foreign newpapers from around the world regarding the war in Iraq and American foreign policy. These are compiled daily by the State Department. Some of them are quite interesting.

I like to use Google's translation service:

http://www.google.com/language_tools?hl=en

and read the foreign papers myself.
In the box 'Translate a web page' I put an address like 'www.lemonde.fr/', set the action, 'French to English' and press 'Translate'. It takes minute for the page to load up and it is in a frame with the Google banner at the top. Then I mark this page as one of my Favorites. So next time I want to see what those #$%^ French are up to I just hit my bookmark. And any link off the page is translated also.

It doesn't work so well for German with their convoluted grammar, so I appreciate your link Bill.

What our friends the french think today:

Le Monde April 8
To penetrate in the city, the armoured tanks apply the method of the "infernal column"
"It is not a bloody ride, but they do not take gloves".

It is "Fire at will!". They adore to draw the 25 mm gun. They do not have a discipline of fire. The initiative is left to the soldiers, with kids some twenty year old. For this reason they also draw on the civilians. A European army would not behave thus. Moreover, in Iraq, the British army kills definitely less the civilians, by controlling its soldiers better "
"They have two problems. They are still avenged for September 11, and there is no sanction when a soldier kills out of the civilians. Their goal is not to kill the civilians, but they have a behavior of cow-boys. They shoot even at the cows!... I have the impression that it is also a manner of masking their fear. They are very afraid. And that worsens each time that they have losses."
