Computer injuries

Ok I have been sliced open form cases, shocked by psu, and my most recent is that I stabed my self with my dremel. I was doing something stupid. Boring holes in my breifecase to mount my motherboard. But i had a 1/16 pice of metal under it. The deremel was reved up and i was boing away and woop it went throug the plastic and the medel right into my knee. The cool thing was no blood. There is a little hole there. The dremel seared teh skin was it hit me. And for other injuries i have had 12 stiches on my hands and 3 on my feet(Dont ask). And countless more minor cuts and crap all from my computers.

What about everyone elese?

No hoe here.

Seriously, you have GOT to be careful with power tools. Here's something to remember:

The most dangerous power tool is the one you are the most afraid of.

The SECOND most dangerous power tool is the one that you are sure is perfectly safe.

Word.

I never dremel'd my leg, but I have gotten sliced open pretty bad from not filing a hole that I cut out. It was going to be a blowhole on the top of my case and I cut it with a hole saw. When I reached my hand through the hole to get the piece I cut out (it was an empty case), I sliced the top of my hand. It didn't need stitches, but four butterfly band-aids wouldn't stop it from bleeding. It was a big mess, but I did successfully finish the hole after I got home from the emergency room.

Once I dropped a pen in a delta screamer and it flew everywhere. Funny sight until I realised I had a few splinters of it in my arm. Nothing serious though. Probably the worst computer-related injury was when my old boss threw a hard disk at me and I put up my hand to stop it hitting my head and all my knuckles swelled up. Other than that just cuts of chassis etc. Once I got an electric shock while changing a heatsink on a computer that was turned off.
Thats about it. I don't have a Dremmel, I would like one though, opens up all sorts of possibilities for injuring myself and others.

LOL!

And thank you, GZ3!

Yeah, I've cut myself up, broken fingertips, etc. I think you just have to learn the potentialities of your tools, how they can go wrong, and learn not to do that next time!!

What I said about the second most dangerous power tool? With me, that would be a power drill. Been using 'em since I was a kid, right? Perfectly safe, right?

I was drilling a hole for a 3/8" dowel, into a 45 degree corner...foolishly, I was gripping the workpiece in such a way that my hand was in the path of the drill bit...the bit suddenly exited the other end (not good) and plowed right into my hand, tearing out a 3/8" plug of meat.

Fortunately, I was able to stuff it back in and tape it down. 20 minutes later, I was back at work! boy, I hope Mickwish doesn't see this, he'll have my hide, hahahahaha

Three years later, the whorls of lines there STILL don't match up!

hoe
n. A tool with a flat blade attached approximately at a right angle to a long handle, used for weeding, cultivating, and gardening.

That must be a pretty interesting impliment into the skin? Now I have heard of clay plates in the lips and ears with some cultures and such but a hoe is a new one!!!! So how big is the hoe that was implimented?

Not sure I really wanna know the answer to that question Neo

I've been cut, but the most damage ever done was the irreversible damage to my attitude

Oh and I have a bad case of mouse elbow from time to time

While holding a resistor in place, I reached for my soldering iron and picked it up by the heating element with my thumb and index finger....Felt like Jeff Foxworthy doing the Shoney's commercial!!!!
