" Be In" post

Back in New York City in the sixties, we used to have " Be Ins" at Central Park, usually on a Sunday afternoon. All types of people would come and mingle, forget about their everyday worries and have alot of fun. Even the cops wouldn't hassle and sometimes join in on the festivities.
I'd like for all of to have fun today and post experiences, stories or just anything you want and have a true day of communing and forgetting about all the bs in our lives and share and be friends.

I'll start..
Yesterday, after noticing our dog. Lucky, was getting some hot spots, I picked up some dog shampoo and to the back yard we went. i don't know who got more of a bath, him or us , but it was fun and we laughed our A$$es of at the crazy dog.

Hey, give people a chance, will you! I, for one, have been outside almost all day.

I had a wonderful experience yesterday. A good friend of mine has been having a lot of marital troubles, and she and her husband separated for a time all the while getting counseling. Well, they've been seeing each other again a lot recently, and now they've made plans to give it another go. I just got a card from her yesterday with the good news. They both seem really happy--and from what I know of the situation, I think they have a really good chance of working things out. They're both lovely people, and I wish them all the happiness in the world!

I was gonna post something goofy here, but...I just now saw something that I got a big kick out of...

My daughter has a really cute yellow Cockatiel, her name is "Spot". I've quite taken to her, and with Alexis away this weekend, I've been playing with her a lot. So I was on the computer (here) and the phone rang. I set Spot on top of the monitor, and went to answer it.

When I came back, Spot was missing, and my heart jumped, because my two cats were in the room (one of whom is an AVID hunter)!

I looked around, and there was Spot, on the floor, strolling around the two cats. Neither cat made a single move on her, and I think that's because the cats recognise that this is the "boss's" pet!

Maybe you had to be there, but dang, it was just too cute!

Ooops, I'm sorry, I shoulda specified that a Cockatiel is a bird. A little smaller that a pigeon, with a funny little crest on top of their heads.

Bird stories

We have a pet Galah, named Henri. Galahs are mimicks, and can talk a bit, and we've had Henri since she was young, and have been teaching her to talk. She can say quit a bit now, and chats away to us...

We have two football teams in our town that are in the national competition. My wife is an avid Crows supporter; my son goes for The Power. They have both being trying to teach Henri their teams theme songs, without apparent success.

My wife was just passing Henri's cage on the weekend when she burst into song: The Power's theme song!! She was shocked and horrified!

She spent most of the rest of the day singing the Crow's song to Henri, but to no avail!

Like Knot's story - ya had to be there!

lol Blazer! 9 out of 10 times you get slapped in the face... but ohhh, htat 10th time!

Hmmm... recent happy good things... well... kinda reminisced today... i went over to see my dad today, and was going through my old room looking for something, and ran across a bunch of happy memories from high school - pictures, notes from old girlfriends... pictures from friends in the AF at Oktoberfest...kind of a hoot! Some people i haven't even thought of in years.

So that's my most recent smile. Oh wait ... i just saw a hoveround commercial! There's my most recent laugh!
