Nah,
I have just been watching this guy speak and the lies are not even remotely credible.
He speaks of how they stormed our troops out of Saddam international. He talks about his secret plan to eject us from the country. He speaks of how the republican guard has routed us as we are driving through the streets of baghdad.
Just a general statement of amusement.

i watched SNL last night for the first time in a long time, and they had Saddam down in his bunker talking to top aides - it was hilarious! He was asking how everything was, and they were all hesitating - and saddam was like ..come on! What's goin' on, guys??? It sucks down here in this bunker - TV, then no TV... screw this satellite, I'm goin' back to cable!
So they started feeding him lines that sounded a lot like the things the (dis)information minister is spouting..
"Ohhh...it's great - we're crushing the infidels!"
Saddam: "That's great! And what about the airport?"
"The airport? Oh, yeah! that's just great - no troops there, and it's still definitely named after you!"
Then they were talking about the double who appeared in public the other day, and it's so safe that he should go out himself. "In fact, go ot the airport, since it's so safe. You know, like especially the southern part of the airport, and wave your arms around...."
The one guy's phone started ringing, and he was like "yeah.. uh huh. I can't really talk now....... okay... Hey Saddam.... what time are you planning on taking that walk at the airport?"
"I don't know... morning sometime maybe"
"yeah.. hello? morning...... okay i'll ask... So Saddam - what, like, 9, or 10?"
It was good stuff!

I watched CNN (among other channels for sure) quite a bit these days and it occured to me that Sahaf seems to 'psychologically melt away', i.e. he progressively gives a quite disturbed impression (duct of language, gesture/body language, interaction).
Thus, I rather take his statements as an indication of defeat.

It may be like Hitler in his bunker in the last days of WWII giving orders to phantom armies and subordinates too terrified of him and his zealots to tell the truth... they seem more than willing to shoot the bearers of bad news.
Maybe they'll all do us a favour and take the same way out that Hitler, Goebels etc., took... cyanide, a bullet... who cares as long as they end up at room temperature.

I'm waiting for him to say that there are no U.S. troops in Baghdad and have U.S. troops come rolling up. It's almost funny watching him say this crap while watching U.S. troops in Baghdad.

Iraqi Information Minister Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf refused to acknowledge the U.S. raid. Al-Sahaf stood in the smoke-filled streets of Baghdad to issue denials of U.S. troop advances.

"We killed most of them, and I think we will finish them soon," he shouted to reporters.
| Ask and you shall receive, nunyadam.
He'll still be claiming that as they lead him away to a waiting Humvee.
