Whoever posted the original hoax needs a lesson in good taste. Spoofing about someone's assassination is low and insensitive. Definitely beyond the bounds of tasteful humor.

I agree. What's interesting, though, is how irrationally the stock market responded to a hoax that could easily be checked out. Makes you wonder about the economists' theories of how markets function.

I don't think stock market decisions are based on rational thought as much as gut feelings and instinct. With the speed of electronic trading these days, every second counts and no one wants to take the time to verify anything. Rumors can cost folks major bucks.

Seems like a bit of a paradox, no?

The Korean stock market dropped by 1.5% - a value loss of more than $3bn - after local TV reported that Microsoft chairman Bill Gates had been assassinated...

And I suspect the Korean market will drop again Monday after shocked investors fire all the gullible analysts who believed this hoax.

there was an Indy film out a few years ago...it was about the assination of bill gates. it was done like a documentary. it was pretty cool. very well done, they had 3d models and interviews and everything. i will see if i can dig it back up...
