Anybody ever had a heart attack?

I'm just wondering ...if you have a heart attack do you know it? I always have pains in my chest...Well not always..but Ive had several times when I have had chest pains.. I've had ECG's and they always show that I have a healthy heart...i'm not parinoid about it, I just wondered if you could have a heart attack and not know it...

heart pains can be mixed up with axiety. always good to have it checked out like you do but if its persistant, id check out the axiety angle.

AFAIK you can not have a heart attack without knowing it.

Can happen. Some ppl have a heart attack with no pain in the chest, just a bit short of breath and feel a bit poorly. Then they come into hospital, have the tests, and sure enough, it was a mild heart attack.

I think you would know there was something wrong, though, but not necessarily realise it was a heart attack.

Many chest pains are caused by muscles/ligamnets in the chest wall, and sometimes by lung problems. Not all chest pain is heart related, but it is wise to get checked out if you have any chest pain, especially if it involves an numbness, tingling or pain in your left arm.

IMO, seeing a good doc is way better than internet consulations.

Cheers
Mick

a heart attack starts with a pain starting from the chest an moving in the arms and in the head part! (pretty hard) and then it starts with this crazy stuff you see in the TV (ER)

Very true. I had inflamed ligaments right in the center of my sternum once. It hurt all the way up my neck to my jaw and arms. I was sure I was having a heart attack. Turned out to be ligaments inflamed by exposure to extreme cold. Now I get it every time I'm out in the cold too long. Hurts like hell.
