I thought you needed a birth certificate to get into Canada.

I took a passport, birth certificate, and driver's license. Mom needed the passport and birth certificate since she isn't a U.S. citizen.
We went last year, not sure how things are now.

These days, a passport or a birth certificate is pretty essential -- if you want to come back.

Geeze...I remember when we just had to pay 10 cents & walk across the bridge from Baudette. No ID required.

How times have changed

take a passport - you know that you will definately be able to get back with that - if you are under 18 a birth certificate will do.

Baudette, MN? I've been there a few times.
