Do you use branded or compatible ink cartridges?

I thought this was the best forum for this but mods please move it if it isn't!

Anyway, I have always used genuine Epson cartridges for my printer but I could save a whole load of money using compatibles. Are compatibles OK though. I've heard they can clog the print head after a while or the colours are funny or are these all stories put about by the printer manufacturers as scare stories?

The cartridges I use don't have the print head built in like some do.

What do you use and your experiences with them please.

I use genuine and refills.

I use a genuine, refill it twice over time then I buy another.

So for the cartridges themselves, I must vote genuine.
