I just got around to reading Sunday's New York Times Magazine (FRYYY), and the fashion spread is by R. Crumb, with Aline modeling the clothes! I hate fashion, but Crumb... well, I guess it's a generational thing... anyway, I love it!
Had a fine time. Came into the valley on I-10; saw all the wind farms (spectacular). Rode the Aerial Tramway to the top of Mt. San Jacinto (dizzying; I have a couple of photos); went to Joshua Tree National Monument (wonderful); checked out the Moorton Cactus Garden (great succulents and amusing "nephew-art" signs); went to a couple of real estate open-houses in the low-megabuck range to see what the nouveaux riches are falling for these days (also great fun). High winds the first day; calm and in the upper 80's the rest. Hung around.
