Kids Random food for thought

I keep hearing reports of Iraqis who hate the US government for invading their country yet still love the US as a country. They can completely separate the government and politics from the people and nation. Shame we can't practice the same common sense with France.

I also keep hearing reports of reservists getting killed in Iraq. Why is it that reservists are there in the first place? Don't we have sufficient active duty people to send? Why call them reservists if you're going to send them in at the start of the war?

Why is it that the folks who paint themselves as the most patriotic Americans are the first ones to step on your Constitutional rights?

M: i think they have serious doubts about themselves and this manifests itself in an overly loud proclamation of their patriotism.

Not true for 100% of the people. But a lot of these loud patritiotic flag waving peeps are actually creeps who endorse murder of civilians by using all forms of cleverly disguised arguments.

I think anyone who endorses murder of unarmed children and women is sick in the head and is probably one of those pseudo-patriotic flag waving creeps.

I think The reason the reservists are sent to fight is because the active units already have their duty stations and are needed there. Also the reservists need to gain experience in warfare, experience that is unneeded by the active duty personnel. OR as someone said, we need cannon fodder now, if the going gets rough, and they cant hold, we'll send in the real troops(paraphrased).

I dont know why the most patriotic are the first one to do that, but I have noticed that too. At a guess, they dont have as much to lose of themselves-they arent whole unless they are part of something like the government(or family, organization, etc.

From what I understand reservists in the Army are the specilists .. aka the mechanic who fixes your car, might be a tank mechanic as a reservists. The sewage treatment guy, might be a water purification specilist in the reserves. Thats why they are called up right away, those are the people who are 100% needed in a wartime situation.

The reservists help keep military spending down. They are only called up when needed, which IMO has been too much lately - definately streches the term "reserves". But that's what they are. They are called up from the civilian jobs they hold and enter active service on behalf of our "Uncle Sam". It really takes a caring employer to make the reserve system work.
