The end, making the video tapes. Is the thought here that if they distribute enough tapes that the girl will be "heard" then she'll stop killing?

Why did the b/f die and not the mother?

Why was the tree significant?

How did she get out of the well w/o using a ladder or rope?

Im going to watch it again but Im confused on some parts. Thanks freakazoids!

I swear and I'll check on the dvd, but I swear that when the b/f was checking the birth records it showed 2 conceived births. Am I right?

When they tore the wallpaper off in the girls bedroom and revealed the tree burned into the wall. How did it get there?

I thought her saying she was adopted was a lie. If she was adopted then from where? I know they went away for awhile but they never said where?

A bunch of questions.. I did not understand the movie either and that matrix-like greenish color ticked me off.!!!

MC, I'm so glad I'm not the only one that didn't understand the movie. I tried, but your questions are the same as my questions, I do believe the movie was good in the sense that I was scared throughout most of it (watching it at night is scary you know ) but I didn't understand the whole storyline well.

The making and distributing of the tape is what saved the mother.

This is why she had her son do so.

Who are you talking about the ghost or the mother? The ghost did not have much problem as she was a ghost. The mother got out with the assistance of emergency services.

If you watched the beginning you will recall something being said about the kids in the cabin trying to tape the foot ball game but when they went to watch it the tape only had the wierd stuff on it. So the girl ghost made the changes directly to the vcr via ghost vision.

It may have had something to do with the method of conception.

I thought her saying she was adopted was a lie. If she was adopted then from where? I know they went away for awhile but they never said where?

I am not sure but this sort of leans towards the previous question. I believe that this was their child born by some sort of cloning process or such. Aka she was kinda born with out a soul.

But that is a stretch.

Nice post Epidemic, let me re-read it and make sure you answered everything correctly.
I had a couple of questions but after watching the movie several times I figured them out.

It must've symbolised something, like the a life lasting a millenia?

Unlike epidemic, I recall the original tape being made by her father. When the mother enters the house she observes it looks like the one in the tape. And I recall the father of the ghost-girl saying he did it.

Search the other thread about this same thing, started by megaloskylaki. He says he saw the original ringu and might be able to shed some light on those issues because of that.
