Is the US is full of wimps.

My daughters school trips have been cancelled. Apparently this is some sort of nation wide trend.

Now I might understand school trips to potential targets like DC but lets get real here.

The school says that the annual trip to Virginia Museum is cancelled because of fear. How much more dangerous is a random trip to the museum than your average terrorist deciding to focus on the actuall school building?

My boy's 3 day trip to Washington DC in May is cancelled.

Saved me $400.

Point is no one wants to be responsible if something goes rong. People are not wimps here. Just some people like Ari and Rumsfeld.

By and large NO.

My son's trip to Sea World is still on. Must be because of the extra security the dolphins provide.

It does appear that we are cowards.. Some of the pre-cautions I can understand, but too many are ridiculous.
Like friends in Michigan had the day off when the war officially started..
Right now there are so many ridiculous rules in place that it would make us look like cowards..

According to Distinguished Member Epidemic, the Iraqi citizenry is very "hardened" and tough so even constant bombing for so many days doesn't scare them. Not even the kids.

Imagine such constant pounding here in the US and you will see the answer to this question instantly.

Mike: yeah, buying Saran Wrap and Duct tape at Walmart is ridiculuous.

Have to agree with ChuckieChan; Its not fear of the terrorists but fear of the lawyers.

Assume the terrorists (or something else) happens to the site of the trip. It does not have to even directly effect any of the children. A lawyer would be able to sue on some form of endangerment and the target would be anyone that had anything to do with the trip.

Its stupid, but IMO the average citizen fears the lawyers more than the terrorists.

So, CE, you implying lawyers are terrorists or worse?

Because if you are, I agree.
