SARS closes another hospital!

Mystery Illness Shuts 2nd Canada Hospital

I think we will need our "germ warfare" equipment for this instead of anything Bin Ladin or Saddam might send our way.

Yeah, great news considering I spend a lot of time in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) Apparently this is affecting many countries, not just Canada, and shows no signs of slowing down.

SARS is turning out to be very serious. I haven't heard how long a person stays ill, but the best advice I have heard is to "quaranting yourself" . In other words, if you have it or think you do, stay home.

Is it in France yet? China, Canada, France has got to be next! J/K

EDIT: Lasts about 7 days, mortality rate is about 3.5 %, no known cure except treatment of symptoms.

I appreciate the high standard of ethics that you are so friendly to share with the rest of the world.

You were a little sloppy though as you forgot Germany.

I thank you in advance for adding it.

I intentionally left Germany out. Get used to it, and don't be so sensitive. I still drink Guiness! Germany makes great beer!

I hope the SARS misses you (and Germany)...Chill...

I thought Guiness was made in Ireland ?

Anyhow, best not to joke about lethal diseases. You never know where they'll reach--or how many they'll touch.

I was working in a hospital in the 80's when AIDs was spreading and I remember the Fear. I was doing a year in a detox ward and people were getting progressively fearful.

Let's hope it disappears as fast as it appeared. And spare ALL Countries.

Like all we need is a highly contagious lethal disease anywhere.

DOOOOOOOG

Agreed! Joking about something like this is poor taste at best.

This is actually a new strain or mutation of the pneumonia virus. With increased uses of antibiotics, this is bound to happen. Its a stage in evolution of these bugs.

Dawg, I never knew you was a nurse.
