Vehicle purchase help!! All opinions appreciated!
Howdy all,
Being a one vehicle family is losing its luster. My wife and I were looking for a SUV that would sustain a growing family for the next 5 years (basically a baby and a toddler). The hard part is we are moving to DC this summer so an Excursion or Suburban are out of the question. Here is what we are looking at in order, please give me your opinions on the vehicles.
1. Ford Explorer
2. Mazda Tribute
3. Ford Escape
4. Chevy Tahoe
5. Chevy Trailblazer
6. Hyundai Santa Fe
Look forward to your inputs.

Sorry Pickel, we are looking for something a little higher off the ground.

Toyota Highlander or 4Runner maybe?
If I had to stay American, it'd either be the Explorer or the Trailblazer. They've each got merits and demerits, it really depends on what you're looking for in the vehicle. Tahoes are huge and have big old motors in them.
Actually, what the heck am I saying?! Jeep. Grand Cherokee or Liberty Sport. Mmmmm, Jeep.

Why, if you're moving to the city, do you want something further off the ground? Outbacks are infinitely easier to drive, load things into (like kids), and perform just as well or better on snowy/muddy roads. Not to mention get better gas mileage than anything else listed. Don't fall into the 'bigger is better' mentality here. If you're in a city, bigger is way way worse. Well, IMO anyway. I don't live in the city, but driving my truck through one sucked. | |

Whir,
I drive a F-150 now. I really enjoy being above the traffic. I know the vehicles I listed are not as high as my F-150, but I would enjoy an advantage over cars.
