From the Comcast News website.
Bush administration has seized $1.62 billion in Iraqi assets already frozen in the United States and will use the money to help rebuild the country once Saddam Hussein is ousted, a top Treasury Department official said Thursday.
The department's general counsel, David Aufhauser, provided updated figures that follow up an initiative from President Bush last week.
Aufhauser said the money has been transferred to an account at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. An additional $77 million is expected to be transferred soon, bringing the total to about $1.69 billion.

Well, lesseee.....
This war is gonna cost about $200 billion.
$1.69 billion is a start.
That money would buy several hundred Tommahawks.
The Iraqi people have so much oil, they'd all be rich like the Kuwaitis, if Saddam wasn't stealing it all.
But I suggest we announce that we're gonna give it all to Isreal & see if Saddam blows a gasket. |

If it isnt its theft pure and simple, and no matter what they say about it being justified, theft is theft.

| Just was curious what drew you here to techimo. Tech stands for technology, specifically that relating to computers... and as of yet, you have had nothing to say regarding such matters, just the occasional post in community.
So... I was just curious what brought you here.
Again, welcome!
edit: the quote in the first post was one I used from another thread. While you have not focused on bickering on the war... one of your 2 or posts was related to it. Tis all.
