Systems Coalition Casualties.

Has anyone noticed that we (Coalition forces) have killed or injured more of our own people than Iraqi soldiers have??

Just saw this..

Quote:
In a separate incident, one US marine was killed and another injured when they were accidentally run over by a US armoured vehicle in southern Iraq.

A statement said the incident took place on Wednesday night.

Both were from the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force.

And most of our POWs are from Maintenance units that got lost. More than one. Their commander should be relieved of his duties. He obviously didn't take training seriously.

In such a complex action, these accidents are nothing. Given the sheer magnitude of the war efforts, I think the Military has done an admirable job.

Any other Military would probably have three or four times as many accidents.

But, the War is not over.

So Touch Wood.

OMG I think shahani stole my keystrokes.

Please characterize the magnitude of the mistakes being made by comparing them to conflicts of old.

If you have ever played a first person shootem up you will grasp some of the concepts of a war prosecuted by humans. Let me tell you one thing that you will probably frag one of your buddies every once and a while in a video game. In real life the pressures of battle are higher. Just in training there are accidents in battle there will be more. WWII had it's share of friendly fire incidents, they were just not publicised that often. It is not really something for your enemy or people need to know about unless it is epidemic in proportions. You will have to show me where this is out of order. Also compare the kill ratio of our military. But you can not compare FF to Kills by enemy ratio as it is unusually low with current technological advantage and general skill advantage.

I find it very upsetting, but I can't imagine what the pressure our servicemen and women are under and how difficult it must be for those who've accidently shot or been shot by the wrong guy.

On the other hand, Iraqi soldiers are apparently shooting their own people on purpose, those who rebel or even try to escape. The people of Basra are apparently trying to escape the city and are being driven back by the bullets of their own countrymen. And our British cohorts can't do anything without putting these people in more jeopardy.

Nope you will come up with some inflametory comment shortly I am sure.

Like Bush is satan and you wonder if he is any better than saddam. I am waiting for it.

I happen to like Bush as a person very much. And you knows that.

I don't like some of the things he does politically.

I also don't like some of the people he has surrounded himself with, starting with Ari Fleischer (who does more damage to the Presidency than anyone else) and Cheney.

As far as inflametory (sic) comment, I am just stating facts. The reader construes it as inflammatory.

In the realm of political intrigue, you need to open your eyes a bit more and not just keep glossing over every dumb thing the Administration says. That is not democracy and you don't help the political process unless you question every move Bush makes instead of saying it demoralises the troops.

Bush is hiding many things:

1) He is trying to give contracts to his oil buddies.
2) Cheney- I don't even want to touch him.
3) Ari Fleischer is just a stooge - does what he's told.

The fact that they awarded contracts to Cheney's company shows where Bush is headed. Bush is also upset with UK wanting to put an Iraqi in charge of a Port in Iraq after the war. He wants to put some CIA stooge there.
