Based on multiple sources Saddam and his henchment are nasty little mo fo's, willing to do anything to the people to achieve their ends. Amnesty international (no friend to the US), Expatriot Iraqi citizens, reports from the front line, and so on. I have not seen a nice report yet from anyone. Al-jezeera does not even say saddam is nice, they just omit the bad.

True on your point. The general joe citizen may never know the real story or stories. Hopefully with the imbedded journalists some of these stories can either be verified or exposed as a fake.
Sometimes it is difficult to determine the validity of a story unless there are corrobarating(spelling) evidence from a independent source. Then there is the issue that the governments only release parts of a story.
