I read in today's paper that gas stations and other places of service in the US refused goods and services to Canadians. Our National Anthem was also booed in Florida, TWICE. I don't get it, just because 10,000 people in Montreal (which isn't really Canada anymore) did something, it applies to all 25 million Canadians? Pretty silly.

Sorry about that guys!
I vote we boycott CompAtlanta!
Harder
BTW, I spent a lot of time in Manitoba growing up and I agree that the majority of Canada doesn't agree with the thinking in Quebec! |

Lot's of people specify US only in their auctions because of increased shipping costs and other reasons that are not political.

This guy actually said "At the present time, we do not ship to, or accept bids from, Canada, Mexico, France, Germany or any other country that does not support the United States in our efforts to rid the world of Saddam Hussein. If you are not with us, you are against us." In this case it was political.

Hmmm...this was not what I thought at all.
(I've bought something from a ebay auction by a Canadian, and am still waiting for it to get through the mails/border/customs 2 months later. I'd hesitate to do it again, although I'm quite sure the item was shipped on time. It's just the terrorism stuff holding it up.)
This boycot deal, OTOH, is wacko.

I know, J. I actually completely read that one. (unlike the Wash Post blurb) I was implying that if one is ok, then the other is fine as well, if the person feels inclined to do so. Ebay-ers have the choice to sell to whom they wish.

| To whom?
As a Canadian, when I bid on eBay from an American user - I always factor in appropriate shipping costs. That's me, at least.
There is absolutely no reason why an American eBay seller should have any issues shipping to Canada, unless they're a rube. lol... As a matter of fact, I often take a no-nonsense approach and bid on the "USA Only." auctions anyway. Quote: |

| Jeepers. I'd follow up on that. I haven't noticed a huge delay (more than a day or two at least) on anything I've shipped to the U.S. - or had shipped to me. But then again, things haven't exactly been "speedy", either.
Also - I don't think the seller won't sell to Canada because of the booing issue. It's because Canada isn't participating in the war. IMO - I say they staple a sign to the owner's rear end saying, "I DISCRIMINATE." and have him walk up and down the street. Naked.

I don't do it, myself, but have seen plenty of auctions that do. I ship my stuff anywhere, provided they pay the extra shipping.

Because of a few people, the seller boycotts Canadians.
Word is spreading around here now that ALL U.S. sellers are not shipping to us.
Now if that isn't generalizing, then what is it ?
Bad neighborhood starts like that. |
