Dog Brushes

I got a odd question for you guys My dog has an excessive amount of shedding hair. He's about two years or so, a pit-bull and something else mix.(The mother was a stray, and we took her in. then she went wondering around the neighborhood ). My mom's best guess is Australian Shepperd. So my question is, what kind of brush works best? We've tried a comb, brush. But none seem to brush it all up, and he still sheds a lot afterwords.

Any suggestions?
thanks guys,
-BL

Long haired?
You have to remember this is shedding season. They all shed a lot now. Perhaps a trip to the groomer would help?

I don't think there is much you can do to stop a dog from shedding, either... Besides dipping the dog repeatedly in Nair™.

save all the hair , spin it into yarn, and knit a sweater.

LOL, it's funny that you say that Alondra, my mom said the same exact thing . Eh, we took him to the groomers about two weeks ago. He didn't shed then for maybe a day, then it came back, and seemed worse.
Thanks for the tips.

Well as I said, a big part of it is even tho you may live in a warmer climate. A dog still has a winter coat and then sheds the coat to grow in a summer one. He's gonna do it again in the fall.

Hi BL,

I have a long haired golden retriever and she too sheds alot. She loves to be brushed down too.

Below is a picture of what I use and its great!!! I brush her forward with the hairs and then I brush her backwards against the hairs and then again forward and she is soooo delighted when I am done.

You can find this type of brush just about anywhere, walmart, petsmart.........

Ah, thanks Neo and Surreal. I showed my mom that brush, and she's going to get it if she sees it.
