Anger month?

It's not just here - it's everywhere. In the past couple of weeks, I've communicated with so many very disgruntled, angry people, it's got me baffled.

Is it the war? Something in the water? People are bored? I don't have a clue.

The war has people pissed off for all kinds of reasons: pro war, anti-war, pro bush, anti-bush, etc. War is not something that we encounter very often and it's bound to make people irate and anxious.

Bottom line though: please try to keep things civil here. I've asked the moderators to be on the lookout for anyone who repeatedly loses control of themselves in the community forum. Anyone that qualifies will get a 30 day vacation from TechIMO to cool down.

Lets be nice to each other - I'm tired of being pissed at people who have attacked me for one reason or another (not here necessarily) and I think we need to support each other in these trying times.

The real problem is some members fail to address issues and attack personalities. This lack of focus in a debate fuels retalliation and then its becomes a free for all.

I think everyone should try and address/respond to what is said and not who says it. In judging others, some become pompous and are seen as being patronizing when in reality they are just being defensive or simply ignorant.

Folks, its issues that are important not personalities.

I agree with both Scott and Shahani, I am seeing people squabbling and Mods closing threads 'surprisingly'!

Take a chill pill everyone, we cannot change it so deal with it!

IMHO

I had to laugh---saw an "against the war protestor" with a giant peace sign at the Academy awards last night---he was flipping off the local news afiliate's cameraman---
I think alot of people might be confused about how to accept whats goin on around them...

TKOP, what does that have to do with this thread?

I think Scotts warning is well needed. I for one am glad he came in and made his presence known 1) to let people know that he still knows whats going on around here 2) his warning is/was much needed.

I think that alot of people are lashing out because they don't believe in war and try to force that on others. Or someone has ticked them off because all they hear are complaints against war or they are the ones who complaint and won't get their voices heard.
