I'm greatly disapointed with some of the members aswell as moderators on this board , we need to accept that other people might have different views , as of now we dont know who or what is right , only the end will tell , we need to stop flaming eachother and calm down , we are at war but that must not change who we are.

I'm sick of it , seeing people who used to be friends turn ugly on eachother just because they dont share your thoughts and opinions

I feel that this war is just , but that does not mean that I will go about bitching to people who do not , I accept their opinion and they have their right to say and think what they want , If not we could just aswell be living in iraq ourself.

Get a grip guys , the world is full of opinons , you may or may not agree with some of them but thats the price we pay for living in a free world.

BTW, I don't agree the war is just. It has no basis and is just another example of the US bullying other countries.

My words were in response to the first sentence in para 3 of the initial thread.

Since it was stated that war is just, I proffered my opinion by saying that I did not agree.

I dunno. I mean, there has been some meanspiritedness that I've seen, but i don't see that as justifying the closing of debate about such a huge issue. I think it is an injustice to roll over and accept someone else's point of view without argument in the name of free speech. Free speech is all about encouraging debate, and expanding the sharing of ideas and opinions. Without debate, free speech turns quickly into indoctrination. If an audience is only fed one side of the story on an issue, they are not armed with information neccessary to make an opinion. They are only armed to be a mouthpiece for somebody else's opinion. Sadly, I see this all over colleges and universities, which are supposed to be bastions of free speech (and no, this isn't a specified instance I'm referring to, it's a pattern of behavior).
