If I were buying a new car, I would. The warranty is great and the cars are much better than they used to be. I liken the path they have taken to that of Honda and Toyota. These both started out as being junk, but regrouped to be a great car by upping quality, giving better warranties and being inexpensive.

The wife and I were looking at replacing 2 vehicles in the near future, and the Santa Fe is on the short list. Consumer reports magazine rated the Santa Fe a top pick.
I/She wants a Dodge Dakota to haul stuff in (motorcycles ) and wanted a small SUV to haul us and the dawgs around and get decent fuel mileage as well.
They seemed the have gotten it together since KIA bought them, or it might be the other way around(Hyundai bought KIA? )
I think they realized that in todays world market, you can't put out a crappy/unreliable product and expect to be around for very long.

let me add some , i wanted to see how people thought . I own 2 Hyundai's a 95 accent with 190k on it with ZERO money into breakdowns , zilch .. nadda .. it even has the factory clutch and rear brakes on it still . so i bought a 02 elantra gt . 30k on it sofar since jan of 02 and not a cent into repairs . not a blip of a problem .

for the people that say they are junk can u explain why u say that ?

You must not drive your cars hard then Omardeth..
I know kids that drive them for 5 years and the engine is almost shot.
My uncle has a '02 Elantra GT as well. There is a pic somewhere in the gallery under my name.

Where in Sac are you?

Omardeth, Hyundai got a bad name in the mid-90's for bad maintaince and reliability ratings. Honestly, I would probably would buy on of today's models, as quality assurance and customer relations have been vastly improved.

I think the 2003 Tiberon looks great!
