The rudeness must stop!

The rudeness and name calling has got to stop!
I am going to start deleting posts where members are just running their mouths bad mouthing other people and countries!

It's gotten out of hand. I am really disappointed that so many of you think it's just fine to take the insult brush and sweep groups of people with it being rude and indirectly attacking other members!
Do you guys think there is no one here in this community other than Lilly White Americans?

How dare you all insult other members with generalized mean narrow minded nasty insults?

Discussing the war and specifics is one thing. But the Ethnic Jokes, Nationality jokes, rude remarks and general nastiness is over! Got it?

It's sad that it started in the first place. And i think is whats worse is that the name calling and bad mouthing is nothing more than useless in a argument.

Thank you surreal (and the rest of you mods) for trying to stop it.

I think a bigger issue here is that the Forum degenerates very fast if rudeness and name-calling is condoned. People who are so intolerant of opinions different from theirs and who believe only they are patriotic should seriously consider not damaging the high quality of this Forum and keep an open mind and show respect for all.

Correct I have seen several post in here which I feel is quite inappropiate. My fingers wanted to place a comment about it, but I guess that will only heat things up. So I'm not going to refer to those threads. The people in question should know, if not, they don't belong here IMO!

Placing your opinion is always welcome, if you place it in a professional way. But simply namecalling, even whole countries and their people. I mean you never been there, how could you judge on them?


People this is an international board!!
There are people from Japan, Sweden, Germany, Greece, France, Canada, Porto Rico, Austria, UK even Afrika... and the list goes on and on...

Don't keep yourself narrow minded, there is allot to learn from other countries and cultures, learn and broaden yourself!

It was my post generalizing my opinion based on my experiences about people from a particular area that triggered surreal to make this request. I apologize. It was not directed at anyone in particular, but it was rude.

This comes on the heels of me making several requests for people to stop personal attacks and name-calling, or supporting the personal attacks and name-calling, in the threads primarily related to the war. There have been some on both sides of the debate, but the ones that I took offense to are the ones saying people are unintelligent for not sharing the other persons views. In general people’s views regarding such hot topics have more to do with their feelings than their intelligence, but that does not mean they are not intelligent. I understand that because it is a hot topic and people have strong feelings they are going to show it, particularly in a semi-anonymous forum like TechIMO.

It was very silly of me to ask for the name-calling to stop then make such a rude, generalized comment. Again, I am sorry if anyone was offended. My post has been deleted.
