Copter Crash Kills 12 Marines

Apparently (again) we have more to fear from our own equipment than anything Saddam can send at us.

Its 12 British soldiers and 4 US.

Extremely tragic.

This war should not have started.

There was no reason to.

When at war, you would expect casualties, but not this way.

skuz, in war when so much complex hardware is involved and the logistics are unbelievably difficult, these things will happen.

These soldiers were no less brave than those in actual fighting and I hope their families are taken care of and they get recognition for valor.

I understand what you mean shanani, but I have the sad feeling that these deaths were useless...

OMG I totally agree with something shahani has said today.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!! I am scared.

Skuz,

Moving 200,000 men around a battle field in equipment with a failure rate of .1% per year, will yield such casualties. It is no different than those who take the train and it skips the tracks or driving in the car when the breaks fail. It is sad but Friendly fire and other accidents will happen. Hopefully this was an unforseable accident not an oversight.

They were all volunteers and willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for their countries. Albeit under fire or equipment failure.

RIP
