I am well aware of the importance of War issues...

But do we need a jillion threads on it? Greater than 50% of the threads on the community page at this moment are war related.

I am aware it is important we show support to our troops... but jees... What is the forum going to look like when war does break out.

I dunno, I used to look forward to coming here to relax, but hard to find anything worth discussing any more. War this, War that. I suggest a temporary "WAR Forum" p'raps.

Thought several times about not posting this for fear of sounding less than American (j/k). Well actually I just thought several times about posting it... if anyone even cared. Figured what the heck.

What happened to the good ole days of guns, homosexuals, and SUV's =)

Peace all

EDIT: oh yeah, guess you can add this one to the pile.

I agree, Gomer. I guess we have too many hawkish and war-loving people here.

But, yeah, there are lots of intellectually stimulating and relaxing topics and we need to get out of this depressing and tragic bit of history.

I agree - this is ridiculous.

I don't really see the point of these endless discussions. Most people who are active on the topic have already gotten their opinions across - several times over. After that, it's just unfriendly bashing of each other. Really unnecessary.

War is a global event and anticipation drives up interest. Plus TechIMO is a global community and these events impact all of us in some way or another. As events twist and turn for better or worse there will be more threads. If there's too many threads then just don't read them. No one's twisting anyones arm to participate in them. Many of us havent seen TV all day so it's not overload for us(yet).

I agree and I think others do too..
What I really hate is the way the members are going at each other.
I'm really sad to see this lack of respect and I hope the community doesn't suffer in the long run.

Toad understandable but they seem to be a breading groups agruements of who is wrong and who is right and who is wrong. the arguements can get only so far.

many people are agreeing to disagree and thats about how far it gets.

I agree, Surreal, we all need to discuss issues and not personalities.

But, in balance, the War is the big topic today and all are expectently waiting for it to start and get over swiftly.

On a different note, I notice those who are rude and attack other members are also generally intolerant of any opinion other than their own. They get enraged when an alternative point of view is presented.

This is truly sad because not only will it hurt this community but degrade discussions to name-calling and trashing others' opinions.

Anybody who'd say something like that is probably a SUV-driving homosexual who wants to ban guns.

Just kidding, Gomer!!

Add me to the "agree" list. I feel the same, but couldn't define why!

Anyway, yeah, great idea on the new forum, that would be most welcome! You could call it The War Zone, maybe!
