I still boycott
Exxon from the Alaskan Valdez accident. Although it's pretty useless to boycott individual gas stations because they all share gas, but I just can't bring myself to pull into an Exxon station.
I only buy
Dolphin Safe tuna no matter how cheap the other stuff is on sale for.
I boycott the
Carey Brothers radio program, because I was listening to their show one morning as they were discussing the upkeep of one's lawn and garden. The issue of neighbor's cats coming into your garden came up. The Carey Brothers first and foremost solution to the issue was instructing people to buy small animal traps, capture the felines, drive approx. 50 miles away, and release the cats. I'm not kidding, that was their "solution". To take your neighbor's pet and banish it to a foreign environment where it'll most likely starve to death alone and confused. I don't think I've ever been more livid in my life. I was seeing red. These two jackasses have a nationwide radio program with how-ever-many million listeners and they think it responsible to instruct people to do stuff like this? What if that cat was the only friend of a lonely old widow or a beloved pet cherished by your neighbor's twin little girls? Not to mention the torment it puts the animal through. Is anyone's flowerbed really THAT important?
Evidently I wasn't the only one that immediately fired off a simply scathing email to them...I'm talking the kind of email that would even make Lucifer himself go, "Wow, that's kinda harsh dude." After their next break they became extremely apologetic and totally reversed their stance on the issue and now advised against what they just told everyone to do less than 20 minutes ago. In spite of their reversal I haven't been able to forgive them. No telling how long they've been advising people to do that or doing it themselves. They obviously thought it was perfectly ok to tell millions of people of their bright idea. And while it's not technically illegal, it is so wrong on so many levels I was just astounded that anyone with any shred of decency would condone it.
