Personal boycotts.

What companies or services do you intentionally boycott as a result of business practices, employment conditions, etc?

Here's my list:

Shell - haven't bought gas from them is a couple of years notably because of their actions in Nigeria.
Esso/Exxon/ExxonMobile/whateverotherdamnnamestheyuse - guys want to oppose Kyoto and renewable energy? Fine, you won't be gettin' a dime of my cash.
Subway - I used to work at one and was treated like garbage. Do I need a better reason?
Walmart - you all know the reasons.
Microshaft - slowly weaning myself off their infectious, closed-source, proprietary garbage.
Zoom Media - Not so much boycotting them, but am defacing their property and consciously ignoring their ads. I don't need to see your advertising when I'm taking a piss.
Nike - Pay your workers a decent wage. Maybe I'll buy your product.
Monsanto - Indirectly. Persuaded my grandfather who is a farmer to refuse any contract, seed, or service offered by this company. Also persuaded a friend to turn down a scholarship offered by this company. Don't screw with nature if you don't know what it'll do; morons.
Coffee Companies - that don't expressly note that the coffee I'm gonna drink is brewed from beans that are obtained under fair trade agreements.

I still boycott Exxon from the Alaskan Valdez accident. Although it's pretty useless to boycott individual gas stations because they all share gas, but I just can't bring myself to pull into an Exxon station.

I only buy Dolphin Safe tuna no matter how cheap the other stuff is on sale for.

I boycott the Carey Brothers radio program, because I was listening to their show one morning as they were discussing the upkeep of one's lawn and garden. The issue of neighbor's cats coming into your garden came up. The Carey Brothers first and foremost solution to the issue was instructing people to buy small animal traps, capture the felines, drive approx. 50 miles away, and release the cats. I'm not kidding, that was their "solution". To take your neighbor's pet and banish it to a foreign environment where it'll most likely starve to death alone and confused. I don't think I've ever been more livid in my life. I was seeing red. These two jackasses have a nationwide radio program with how-ever-many million listeners and they think it responsible to instruct people to do stuff like this? What if that cat was the only friend of a lonely old widow or a beloved pet cherished by your neighbor's twin little girls? Not to mention the torment it puts the animal through. Is anyone's flowerbed really THAT important?

Evidently I wasn't the only one that immediately fired off a simply scathing email to them...I'm talking the kind of email that would even make Lucifer himself go, "Wow, that's kinda harsh dude." After their next break they became extremely apologetic and totally reversed their stance on the issue and now advised against what they just told everyone to do less than 20 minutes ago. In spite of their reversal I haven't been able to forgive them. No telling how long they've been advising people to do that or doing it themselves. They obviously thought it was perfectly ok to tell millions of people of their bright idea. And while it's not technically illegal, it is so wrong on so many levels I was just astounded that anyone with any shred of decency would condone it.

K-Mart is the only one I don't shop in. It is because they caved under Rosie O's pressure and stopped selling a lot of firearms and accessories.

Don't worry OuTpaTienT,

I put they word out on the DooGline to our CaaT allies.

As you read this, Caats staring out of windows are using Caat inner eyelid Semiphore and tail angle Fullphore, while DooGs use a more mobile Tail-to-raised leg Angle system to spread the word....and they will be well-marked and sprayed wherever they go.

You know many black caats will cross their path ? How much WOOOOOOFING they'll be hearing as they TRY to go to sleep?

And I won't tell you what the Ferret Freedom Fighting Front is planning--but FerreTs are good diggers.

Carey Bros. must be allies of The Mysterious CaaT on the Knoll. [I'll tell you about that some day]
