It's the end of saddam as we know it.

All facts leading us to this war are now moot. Now the real facts will come to light. Bush had better hope he had good intel.

I have defended this decision to now based on speculation that the US and GB have their ducks in a row. Now the proof is in saddam pudding.

God bless our brave troops and Iraqi civillians I am sorry your but I think your dictator will not let you leave the cities. You work too well as shields for him to let you go. I pray (if their is a god) that he makes those bombs hit their targets and that he protects the civillians.

I'm afraid that, in a last ditch act of lunacy, he may try to turn this into Arab - Israeli conflict by launching on Israel first. I have grave doubts that the U.S. will be able to restrain Israel if they get hit by WMDs this time around.

Bush will go down in history as the president who triggered a World War despite opposition from the UN and most countries.

I just hope the war doesn't spread here and is contained in the Middle East.

Re Israel, when there is so much chaos, the ragatag bands of army soldiers, terrorist mercenaries, and so on will take full advantage of the war situation and attack Israel as well.

This is gonna spread like wildfire.

Entirely possible shahani. However Bush's fate in world history really boils down to how the war is prosecuted and the success. Finally he will be judged as to how well the post war world looks.

WWIII will only be touched off if North Koreas decides to make a move.

But on the flip side a world war is very environmentally friendly. Green peace will love it think about all the reduction of emissions from the dead people who no longer commute to work.

Ok ok ok sick!

Israel is too smart for that. Israel exercised restraint the last time Saddam launched a scud their way in an attempt to draw them into a war. Unless it looks like the US and its allies aren't getting the job done I think Israel will lay low to avoid escalating the war. If Israel gets involved that would likely draw Syria, Lebanon, etc and maybe even Egypt and Iran into the war. If the coalition gets their hands tied with more than Iraq in the Middle East then we can expect N. Korea to draw us into a war on a second front. It would get real ugly and I’m sure Israel knows that.

I really think this will be a “wham, bam, thank you Saddam” deal that is over within a few weeks. Maybe a few months tops. The loss of life will be proportional to Saddam’s stupidity. Saddam’s best bet is to not do anything and play the victim, and hope the anti-war wussies can muster enough support to make the US out to be the bad guys and convince the UN that Iraq should maintain it’s current sovereignty and government. It’s a long shot, but better than his odds of winning a war.

Not only that, but if we get sent back to the stone age in 50,000 years we'll have more oil than we ever dreamed of!

You gotta look on the up side here!

Israel didn't exercise restraint. They were ready to retalliate but forced into not responding by Bush, Sr.

Regarding Israel being smart, my opinion is they can hardly be called smart after the wat they have been conducting themselves in last 10 years.
