I loved it, myself; I was always sorry that my high school didn't offer four years of it (stopped at Cicero, the old bloviater; never got to Virgil or Horace). Unfortunately, I've forgotten a lot of it, because I don't get an opportunity to speak it much.

Well, I had a treatment of 4 years starting 7th grade "gymnasium" and finished with Ceasar and some Ovid. My fault was that I did not obey that one should really work on it from the beginning onwards so I was lost after doing rather fine for two years because I did not acquire the baseplate. This was especially bad with regard to Ovid when you had to do real analyses of grammar.

It sounds that you are one of these rare cases who were/are able to converse in Latin. Admirable.
