What is "it"?

Any of you heard of the 'it' project Microsoft is involved in? What is the latest news on that? Any of you know what 'it' is?

The guy responsible for engineering "it" claimed (as did Steve Jobs) that "it" would change the world.

You know how people just hate that phrase. Especially the well-to-do ones who like the present world just fine thank you; and have the clout to keep it the way it is.

"IT" has evidently gone to that great graveyard of great ideas like cars that run on water, and atomic power too cheap to meter, disposable clothing too cheap to wash, and real beefsteak made from kelp.

I'm not holding my breath waiting for "it."

I want to know what 'IT' is. I saw the wheelchair he (Dean Kamen) invented, it's amazing.

The guy holds some 80+ patents.

Was this the thing that was being talked about at the end of last year or thereabouts? I remember a thread at 'the old place' about how 'it' was going to revolutionise the world but only a handful of people knew the exactly what this was. There would be an 'it' at every street corner or so it seemed.

Is this what we're talking about?

My guess is a small transpotation device that uses a high efficiency Stirling engine. Maybe some sort of heat exchanger for the high efficiency. They run on any source of heat and are about 40% efficient now, if they could get it up around 80%.......
