A fast way to check for vacuum leaks is to get a can of carb cleaner. Put the extended nozzle on it. Then spray around the hoses and carb base plate. If the idle picks up you found a leak. (You will find an idle increase around the carb throttle shafts real bad on a rochester carb). Also spray around the shaft for the power brake booster inside the cab. Power Brake boosters are known to start leaking there also.
bigblue I am like you. Holley all the way on a gas motor. Don't use a holley projection unit. Been there done that.

I haven't done the pro-jection myself, but I know a few who did. Not a single one is happy with it, the early units were buggy, and now they just suck. IMO

Tell me about buggy. I had one on a 1 ton truck for 10 months. It was down for inj problems for 10 weeks of that time. When I pulled it off. It was grounding my HEI system out. Holley said it couldn't. Yea right.
I almost drove down there and let them check it out. They are only 200 miles away. At that time I wouldn't have trusted that unit that far in one jump. So off it cam eand a 600 4 bbl went on with a torker2 intake to match.
I had the pro jection on a steath intake.
I did miss the performance from it. When I put a carb back on it. After the first test drive. I almost ordered a blower for it. It was that depressing the difference in the way it accelerated. Only thing that stoped me was I remembered I had 10 to compression in it.( I was setting in my chair with the credit card out and a summit book open to the correct page). Don't think my 12 inch clutch could have stood the strain.

I feel for you Draboo, I went through that about 5 years ago with my ponitac grandam. I took it in for regular ole service including new spark plug wires and such and when i got it back it bucked just like yours, took it back and they said its fine and I said no its not. It runs horrible and it was not like that when i brought it in. These guys refused to drive it at all, was hard to drive around, finally I go to the dealer ship and told them the story and asked for computer diagnositic test. So ran that and the guy who was doing this for me happen to know the guy at the other shop. well guess what, turns out two of the NEW spark plug cables were bad, had a rip way down in the boot of the plugs so had the dealer ship call the other guy for me and say they need to replace it, had to wait 4 more days for them to get some more new spark plug boots. Sheesh, anyways, they didn't like it to well be shown up by a woman.

They fixed it and I never went back to them after there total and complete unprofessionalism with me.

Dunno if that is your problems but thought I'd share my experience.

A Weiand Stealth? Thats the intake I am currently using on Big Blue with a holley 4150 600cfm carb. they seem to go together just wonderfully. Along with several other extras/mods.

P.S. Big Blue is my 77 Blazer (bigblue77)

I found over the years that a torker works better with a 411 gear in a heavy vehicle. On my old 72 C30 the stealth only got 10 mpg. The torker got 12mpg. At cruise speed the torker had better accerelation than a stealth.
If you were in the 2500 to 4000# class ride. A stealth would be better. But the torker comes in better on the 5000# + setup. Loaded or unloaded.
A stock LT1 intake is only around 8mpg. I played with a lot of differennt intakes on the heavy's I drive most of the time.
Now I drive a turned up Cummins.
