Misc My son's 1st. home run! Proud dad.

This was probably the most intense and well played "majors" little league game I have ever watched. The 2 teams played 5 extra innings.

At the end of 6 innings the score was 0 to 0.

At the end of 7 innings the score was 5 to 5.

At the end of 10 innings the score was 6 to 6.

In the bottom of the 11th. inning with 1 out my son drove the first pitch over the left-center field fence for a "walk off" home run! His first ever!

Final score 7 to 6.

So proud.

Bill

Wow! Sweet! Is he a clutch hitter or a power hitter? Either way, that is great! I bet he felt on top of the world after the game.

Actually, he's probably a "power" hitter. Funny thing was that 2 weeks ago at a team practice at a batting cage he missed every ball with the exception of of 2 fouls. He was pondering quitting. We then insisted that he wear his eyeglasses and ordered him sport glasses. That was the trick.

yes - that's a special memory - one to cherish.

I remember No. 1 sons first shot - it was like a hollywood script - 12yr old little league tournament - bottom of the 6th (they only play 6) - we're down 3-1, two outs, runners on 1st and 2nd. My boy comes up - first pitch - an ugly swing, he's way ahead of the pitch..... 2nd pitch, he fouls it off.

The coach calls time.. walks out to Nobel (my boy) - puts his hands on his shoulders and whispers something to him... he goes back to the plate - the pitch... and that ball just went into the night - I cried.

Later I asked the coach what he said to him - he said - 'relax, you're a good 2 strike hitter, now go up there and have fun'

HAHAHAHAHAA!!!

Man, that Coach was the right guy in the right place!

Ever notice, you do your best work when you're just having fun with it?

I dunno about you, but everytime it gets all 'serious!!!' is when I choke up. True!
