I logged on to a support website for our financial software today, and read this startling message:
"If you have internet service, you may download the version 6.1 upgrade from our website. If you do not have internet service, please send an e-mail to our product support team, and we will mail you the update on 3.5" disk."
Ummm....Just how the devil do people without internet service even see these instructions; much less send an e-mail???
Their stinkin' webpage takes twice as long to download as that patch file does!
Also, you can;'t afford to use this software unless you've got an office with ten people and a bookkeeper!
This package is about $5000, and requires a yearly subscription.
I't's not for the casual user. It's for companies that must give a detailed cost breakdown of billings, by job phase, and percentage of project completion. The only people who use it are Engineers, architects, and contractors.
That's kind of like my broadband service!
If I can't get online I call their support number and what do they say!
Our online chat support has been implemented, If you are having problems with your service, Please go to http://whatever.com
Where do they come from these half witted morons who come up with this stuff?
