I know.

My point is that when you punish someone you place yourself above them in order to show them that their actions were wrong.

However when you condone such acts (of violence that have nothing to do with the intended educative punishment) you thereby nullify your position rendering the act of punishment irrelevant.

Further more, you justify their (criminal) actions (for which they were supposed to be punished) and legitimise them since you reverted to the same behaviour.

I think the peeps who assaulted him should be put in solitary confinement for 3 years and beaten with rubber pipes twice a day- at 3am and at 9pm. (Mess up their sleep).

This Lindh dude has been found guilty and is serving his sentence - in prison as well as the fact that his life is finished.

Just my balanced opinion.

PS: CM doesn't come across as liberal to me by any stretch of the imagination. Just pro-Arab/Moslem.

Criminals, incarcerated because of their anti-societal deeds, lashing out at a fellow anti-societal type. Guess they didn't like Lindh's form of anti-ness.

I would imagine that the Muslim Brotherhood was protecting him in the begining and something changed to make him lose that protection (like he was famous for his deeds and now is found to be just another schmuck). My guess the Arayan's slapped him around a little to introduce themselves. Unless they kill him, this isn't worth a prison press release. Wrong as it might be, this stuff goes on all the time. If he was in a State Pen he probably wouldn't live a year. The Fed's do a respectable job of protecting inmates.
