The Ministry thread!
Hola members of the Ministry. As well I realize that we have our "Heads up!" thread, I figured I'd attempt to create a brainstorming thread for "not necessarily avatar related posts".
What brings me in front of you today, is an idea with little or no merit, yet I feel the need to bring it to that attention of staff.
Has anyone ever brought up the idea of a true collaborative effort among our artists, animators, and Flash/Photoshop Experts? I'm thinking along the lines of perhaps a really cool animated Banner for the TechIMO front page, or just something that shows off our talents like a short animated clip?
I had an art class in highschool that was going to do a short animated cartoon, but it got ditched and all we did was make/create an animation cell.....blah!
Considering a decade fast forward and the powerful tools at our disposal, I'd love to see if we could make something together. Nothing too fancy, but definetely more than a 64x64 10kb avatar.
Anyone interested in this at all? Like the idea at least if not interested? Think I'm flying a jello kite?

LOL, a Jello kite, hehehe
Huh! Interesting. Dunno about the efficacy of this, TechIMO is not a creation that would lend itself to our tender/maniacal ministrations; it would require Scott W/ Mark S to say "hey, guys, we wanna try something really wild here, and we know there's some pretty creative people here..."
I believe I have seen some pretty amazing examples of this kind of thing produced by our own OuTpaTienT and Socalgal, and perhaps others. |

Well I, of course, would be all for it RF!
Although, with the experts around here I'm not so sure how much I could contribute...maybe I can refill the M&M bowl?
Anyway, it's a damn good idea and I would love to see what comes out of it.

Well, the Jello kite is interesting because....I HATE JELLO!
Far be it from me to suggest that we would force Scott to use any kind of SuperAnimatedBannerdillyoshus....that we created, just thought it might be a common place to start the synapses firing.
It's not like I'm going to find out where Scott is hiding, put my Jello Kite to his head and say..." Use our banner...or...or...the kite....OH DAMN, IT'S MELTING! I KNEW I SHOULDN'T HAVE USED FRUIT COCKTAIL IN IT!"
Besides, I'm a man of action! We create something that could possibly within the realm of possibility be used within the site somewhere and present it to him, and he either says yes or no.
Just the comraderie and the collaborative effort would be enough reward ( I mean c'mon, who wouldn't like to show whatever it was we made to friends and family and be able to boast that you had a hand in it ? ) or, we could just say the heck with it and keep creating avatars and other silly things.:P

Well I have nothing to offer this action Red, but I think it is a great idea.I have seen the work done by individuals, and to combine all those talents would be nothing short of amazing IMO.

So, is this going to be the idea that never left commity, or are we gonna think up some ideas and agree on one?
