US forces will go it alone to Baghdad

Quote:
AMERICAN forces will play the key role in the capture of Baghdad, with British troops being confined to the south of Iraq. “It won’t be the Union flag flying over Baghdad,” one British defence source said.

A senior British Army source said: “This decision is part political, part military, but the Americans have made it clear Baghdad is their prize.”

Isn't SaDamn's hometown in the south and he has positioned his Republican Guard there to obviously be his prime defence when he cuts out of Bagdad ????? The Brits might just have their hands full !!!! Good luck and may the force be with you!!

Tirkit (or something similiar) is the name of the city y'all are talking about. I think it's a bit north of Baghdad.

It is a bit north of Baghdad. I've circled it in red on a CIA map.
