It's times like these that I wish I were able and the Independence was still commissioned. By the time I got in the Cuban Missile Crisis was over and when I got Viet Nam was just starting. Feel like I missed the experience my uncles had during WW 2 and Korea. My heart goes out to my Naval brothers and I promise to hold the fort til they return. GO NAVY!!!!!!!!!!

Ah, Pickel according to to the Austrain Immigrants, the US military is evil. It is hard to convince them that we are in fact the good guys. Maybe they need some Nazis on the border again....

lol I was going to edit that too..."aweigh." for about 5 years, I was a U.S. Naval Sea Cadet in the Naval Sea Cadet Corps. I was a member of the Barque Eagle Division in Plainville, CT.

we had a 2-week boot camp and trained with all branches of the services, including 2 weeks with the Coast Guard in New London, CT.
I am seriously considering the Navy after I graduate from college this May.
